Meet Peggy

Education changed the course of my life.

I came to Canada as an immigrant, and like many newcomers, I was building a new life and learning how to find my place in a new country.

One of the most important chapters of that journey was attending high school in British Columbia.

My high school education gave me gave me a strong foundation, opened doors, and gave me the confidence to believe in what was possible. It set me on a path I could not have fully imagined when I first arrived.

That foundation carried me forward to Capilano University, where I began my post-secondary education. I went on to earn a Bachelor of Commerce and later an MBA.

Looking back, I can see how each step built on the one before it. A strong education created opportunities, and those opportunities shaped the person I became.

From Student to Professional

For more than 20 years, I have worked in the corporate world, taking on roles that required me to lead, make decisions, solve problems and deliver results.

My career has taught me that leadership isn't about having all the answers. It's about listening, asking the right questions, making thoughtful decisions and taking responsibility for what happens next.

I have learned to be accountable, not just for the decisions I make, but for the outcomes that follow.

That experience has shaped how I approach challenges today. I believe good leadership means being prepared to make difficult decisions, using resources responsibly, and always asking whether we are achieving the results we set out to achieve.

Why This Matters To Me

My own experience is why I care so deeply about education.

I know what it means to be given a strong foundation and an opportunity to succeed. I also know that every student's path is different. Not every student starts from the same place, and not every student needs the same kind of support.

But every student deserves the opportunity to discover what they are capable of.

As a School Trustee, I want to bring together two perspectives that have shaped my life: the perspective of someone whose life was changed by a strong BC education, and the experience of a professional who understands leadership, accountability and responsible decision-making.

I want to help ensure our schools have the resources they need, that students have the support and opportunities to succeed, and that we remain focused on preparing them for whatever comes next.

I know personally what education can make possible. I want to help make that possibility available to every student.

A Little More About Peggy

Beyond my education and career, I am someone who believes strongly in community, opportunity and giving back.

I am running for School Trustee because I care about the future of our students and our schools, and because I believe my personal experience and professional perspective can contribute in a meaningful way.

I would be honoured to serve our community.
